Psalm: 14
Iconography: The psalmist with his halo, has been glorified for fearing the Lord. He points to the start of the psalm. He is asking Christ 'Who shall dwell in your tabernacle?' Christ listens, holding a scroll, while the reply probably comes from the pointing angel: he who walks without blemish: and works justice. He who speaks truth in his heart: who has not put forth deceit in his tongue. Nor done evil to his neighbour: and not taken reproach against his neighbour.
Art: This is the first initial in gathering 7, and Artist 2 starts the next sequence of pictures (p94-131). The blue background colour is much stronger than in the previous initials.
Thread stitch: yes, with red threads
Historical Relevance:
Quire: 7
