Psalm: 38
Iconography: The psalmist points to his offending tongue and to the words of the psalm. Christ leans over to listen. I have said I will guard my ways: that I offend not in my tongue...Hear my prayer lord.
Art: This initial shows that the letter was designed before the text, even if it was painted afterwards. The letter blossoms into the line above, forcing the scribe to invade the margin.The coloured lettering below indicates a major division in the psalms.
