TranslationPsalm 123Blessed is the lord who has not given us (to their teeth) IF IT HAD NOT BEEN THAT THE LORD/ was with us let israhel now say:/ if it had not been that the lord was with us./ When men rose up against/ us:/ perhaps they had gulped/ us down alive./ When their fury was kindled against us:/ perhaps water had swallowed us up./ Our soul had passed through rushing water:/ perhaps our soul had passed through/ unbearable water./ Blessed be the lord who has not given us/ to capture by their teeth./ Our soul is delivered like a sparrow:/ from the snare of the fowlers./ The snare is broken: and we are set free./ Our help is in the name of the lord:/ who made heaven and earth./ |
