This is the work of those who disparage me before the lord:/ and who speak evils against my soul./ But you lord do with me for your name’s sake:/ because your mercy is sweet./ Deliver me because I am destitute and poor:/ and my heart is troubled within me./ I am taken away like a shadow when it fades:/ and I am driven out like locusts./ My knees are weakened with fasting:/ and my flesh is emaciated./ And I am made a reproach to them:/ they saw me and shook their heads./ Help me lord my god:/ save me according to your mercy./ And let them know that this is your hand: and you lord have done it./ They will curse and you shall bless:/ let them that rise up against me be thrown into confusion:/ but your servant shall rejoice./ Let them who disparage me be clothed with shame:/ and let them be covered with their confusion like with a cloak./ I will acknowledge the lord exceedingly with my mouth:/ and in the midst of many I will praise him./
