Psalm: 149
Iconography: God looks out, blessing. A group of eight women stand in a building with hands raised: let his praise be in the church of the holy ones. They watch three soldiers with drawn swords face two devils: two edged swords in their hands. To execute revenge on the nations. The text does not indicate that the holy ones should be depicted as women, but women are also shown for this scene in the Utrecht Psalter (Haney, 2002,637)
Art: The blessing Christ is a patch. Two patches, on pp 369 and 370, are stuck back-to-back.This repair was done shortly after the lower part of the initial was complete because it is cut around the finial of the building below. The patch is nonetheless painted by Artist 2.
