Psalm: 6
Iconography: The psalmist is sprinkling his bed with an aspergillum in one hand while his other hand indicates that his tears are also washing the bed.The flood of tears seems to have set both the bed and psalmist afloat. I will wash my bed throughout each night: with my tears I will water my couch. For a monk the bed was a dangerous place of relaxation and pleasure which was duely sprinkled with holy water each night before retiring. The cross on the psalmist's head probably means he is a good Christian. In Revelation 7:3 the servants of God are marked by a sign on their forehead.
Art: Under drawing shows that the cloak of the psalmist had a zigzag hem and the folds on the bed cover were intended to drape in the opposite way.
Thread stitch: y,with red threads
